FINAL DEAR 2011 NUMBERS

With over 145 schools checking in it looks as though over 58 000 students and 3900 staff participated in this year's Drop Everything and Read. Sadly, not all participating schools/school districts have recorded participation rates so it is probably safe to say that these numbers are very much underrepresented. Our best estimate is that over 120 000 students and staff participated this year.

Thanks again to EVERYONE that made DEAR 2011 the biggest so far!

Kamloops-Thompson Celebrates DEAR Challenge

School District 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) celebrated DEAR 2011 with over 7700 students and staff participating this year. Great little article (with pictures) by district library co-ordinator, Andrea Wallin.

Thanks to everyone in SD73, especially, TL Rae Carter, for their continued support of Drop Everything and Read!
